The third installment of my Sinful series: Envy

Symbolism
  • Green:The color green is often associated with envy(Hence "Green with envy")
  • The Mask: I chose this model because of her mask. The way she hides her own face because she sees herself as not good enough, too envious of those around her to show her true self. Hiding
  • Icy Landscape: According to some research I did, the punishment for the sin of Envy is constant freezing water. And thus the tundra like landscape. 
  • The Snake: Snakes often represent Envy and cunning. 
  • The flower: According to the Victorian Language of Flowers(and other sources) The Cranesill Geranium symbolizes envy
